One of my fondest memories from high school is reading Yahoo User Movie Reviews during computer class, while our teacher attempted to explain to us how to save a Word document. I know they don't sound like anything particularly funny, but trust me: you can never underestimate the grammatical blunders, nonsensical insults, and even racial slurs that the general public will spout off to anyone who might be listening.

Roger Ebert: Jesus, amlgs322000 doesn't like me?! I believe I will cease in my hating, and instead begin to congratulate.

Critics know nothing about good movies
by rahja4ever24 (movies profile) Feb 25, 2005

I just wanted to say to the critics that have been bad mouthing this movie they should try to understand where this story is coming from and stop being so judgemental. If you took a minute to realize that this movie is based on an actual gospel play. You would understand the basis for this movie. You have to look deeper into the actual meaning of the movie instead of just giving it a quick glimpse. I bet none of you that talk down about this movie have ever thought that maybe this has more meaning to it than some of the crap that you actually suggest people to go watch. That is why to this day I never listen to what any of the critics say about movies because you honestly know nothing.

Peter Travers: It's true -- Rolling Stone only asked me one question before I got this job, and it was, "Do you know anything about movies?" And I was like, "Movies? What the hell is that?" And they said, "Good. Good."

WHY R THE CRITICS AND READERS REVIEW SO DIFF?

ITS FUNNY HOW THE READERS REVIEW ARE ALL IN THE A'S AND THE CRITICS ARE ALL IN THE LOW C'S. THIS MOVIE WAS ABOUT LIFE. AND ABOUT JESUS, THE REASON THE CRITICS DONT APPRECIATE THE MOVIE IS THEY OBVIOUSLY HAVENT SEEN THE PREVIOUS MADEA MOVIES AND CANT RELATE LIKE A PERSON OF COLOR CAN, AND PROBABLY DONT KNOW JESUS. EVERY SAVED PERSON IN THE THEATRE LOVED IT , GOOD JOB MR PERRY

Jesus: Dude, are you kidding me? This movie fucking sucked.

Haters need to Stop Hating

I just have to say that anybody who thinks that this movie isn't good is probably just hating.

Wolf Blitzer: In related news, people who liked this movie were generally found to be "loving".

Who pays these critics?
by miss_shor_t (movies profile) Feb 28, 2005

I did a search to see what different critics were saying about this movie. they all hated it. I'm amused by this because it's number one in the box office.

Josh: Other movies that were number one in the box office:

- Boogeyman (average critic rating: 11%)
- Hide and Seek (average critic rating: 14%)
- Are We There Yet? (average critic rating: 13%)
- Meet the Fockers (average critic rating: 39%)
- The Grudge (average critic rating: 37%)
- Shark Tale (average critic rating: 34%)
- The Forgotten (average critic rating: 32%)
- Resident Evil: Apocalypse (average critic rating: 21%)
- Exorcist: The Beginning (average critic rating: 11%)
- Alien vs. Predator (average critic rating: 22%)

And just for good measure:

- Diary Of A Mad Black Woman (average critic rating: 16%)

I'm amused too, although I don't think it's for the same reason that you are.

Go Tyler Perry!!!
by aeblackmo (movies profile) Feb 28, 2005

What the devil intended for bad God turned it for good. This movie was great! Let me encourage you Tyler to keep on doing what the Lord has blessed you to do. This is only the beginning and not the end.

Devil: Curse you, Tyler Perry! You and God have foiled me again!
