One of my fondest memories from high school is reading Yahoo User Movie Reviews during computer class, while our teacher attempted to explain to us how to save a Word document. I know they don't sound like anything particularly funny, but trust me: you can never underestimate the grammatical blunders, nonsensical insults, and even racial slurs that the general public will spout off to anyone who might be listening.

This Week's Movie: Ice Age: The Meltdown

Funny but cute
by sk50hwycoal (movies profile) Apr 2, 2006

Ice Age is cute, but I think it can have better and funnier scenes. Realy it's good but the movie isn't a 100% MOVIE.

Josh: Watch out, Hollywood: we're not going to be fooled by your fake "movies" forever.

I won't let my kids see this movie
by m2jdab2003 (movies profile) Apr 1, 2006

I was very disappointed in this movie. It was hard to keep up with the plot. I didn't like the whole issue of Manny worrying about becoming extinct and feeling like he had to get together with the only other mammoth he thought existed. The whole thing with Ellie thinking she was an opposum was just dumb. It did have some funny moments but not enough to tempt me to let my four kids watch it.

Josh: It's neat that your kids have the exact same sense of humor as you.

kids unfriendly

I was looking forward to see this movie and after the first 5 min. we herd the word ass several times. then all of the sudden this little animal pops up and yells damn. I have a nephew that was going to have a birthday party age 5 now he and his friends are going to see something else. Why did you have to put the bad language in a kids movie.

Tooo much adult humor for youngsters
by micah_stott (movies profile) Apr 1, 2006

Well we took our 3 1/2 year old to see this movie tonight and left half way through. We were very disappointed with it. It did not have enough kid humor in it to keep her interested she did not get half the jokes. They used the words ass, damn, and talked about "hooking up” even if my daughter was 7 I would not want her to watch this and pick up on those words. I am not too uptight with what I let her watch but I guess I was expecting a cute cartoon and a fun family night out and I was sad that this movie had to be so crude.

ICE AGE 2
by kornblet (movies profile) Mar 31, 2006

THE VISUALS WERE PRETTY BAD. IT WOULD OF BEEN BETTER IF THEY DID IT IN 3-D

Josh: You have to admit, though, that those illustrators are pretty good at making drawings that look like 3D renders.

I REALLY,REALLY,REALLY,REALLY DETEST THIS MOVIE!!!!!! IT,TOO, SUGAR-COATS EVOLUTION AND "PREHISTORY" THEN SELLS IT 2 PEOPLE ALMOST EVERYWHERE!!!!!! I MEAN, THERE IS A SEQUEL 2 THAT DUMB MOVIE "ICE AGE" !!!!!!

Ice Age 2 Executive Producer: I told you morons that kids would be more interested in a serious documentary about the life and times of the saber-toothed tiger and its evolutionary relation to today's felines!

Not really a great movie, but it was ok. Ice Age shouldn't have gotten a sequel, because how can there be another Ice Age!?!?!? It doesn't make sense!!!

Scientist: He's right, folks: there can only ever be one ice age on Earth.

Ice Age 1 viewer: Plus, the ice age ended at the end of the first movie and all the characters died.

decent

i really liked the movie, but that squirrel and his nut need to go. it gets old b/c he never dies.

Josh: Well, it certainly would fit the mood of the movie if he slowly died of excruciating starvation.
